Polish - Slovakian winter ski competition "Spartakiada" EURO-SKI - The Carpathians 2007

Two edition of the alpine ski competition within Polish - Slovakian winter ski competition "Spartakiada" EURO-SKI The Carpatians 2007 took place in Krynica on the 8th of March 2007.
The organizer of Spartakiada was Dukla Municipality, Community Center in Dukla and Primary School from Iwla were co-organizers. The competition was supervised by Ryszard Kwiatek whereas Andrzej Bąk was the main juror. This sport event was financed by European Regional Development Found Interreg III A - micro projects, national budget and financial resources of the main organizer. The finances for "Spartakiada" were obtained by the agency of Carpathian Euroregion.
The main purpose of Polish Slovakian winter ski competition Spartakiada EURO-SKI - The Carpatians 2007 is:

  • to create permanent trans-border cooperation in order to organize winter sport events for children and youth
  • to supply Dukla Municipality with the sport equipment that can be used for another sport events
  • to promote winter sports: skiing and ski-running on the borderland (Dukla Municipality and Svidník District)
The participants of the competition came from local primary schools in: Dukla, Jasionka, Iwla, Głojsce, Tylawa, Równe, Jaśliska and Wietrzno.
Safety and medical care were provided by doctor Stanisław Zieliński and GOPR - mountain rescue team.
198 children, 42 from Slovakia and 156 from Poland (Dukla Municipality), took part in the first edition of the competition in Krynica. 126 of them successfully completed the race.
189 children, 42 from Slovakia and 147 from Poland (Dukla Municipality), took part in the second edition. 116 of them successfully completed the race.
